About the book
Help children learn how to keep their cool.

"The Anger Volcano: A Book About Anger for Kids" is for children who need a little bit of inspiration to control their temper. A valuable resource for parents, counsellors, youth workers and teachers, it builds on the principles of neuroplasticity. "The Anger Volcano" encourages kids to use simple rhymes and exercises to train their brain, so that anger explosions can become a thing of the past.

About the author
Amanda Greenslade is an Australian writer and a parent with multiple family members in the syndrome mix of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder - Asperger's and Sensory Processing Disorder (Sensory Integration Dysfunction). Her journey led her to create 'The Anger Volcano', a book for children who need some help managing their frustration and anger.

About the project
We created the print layout and cover design for the print edition, which was released via print-on-demand. We also created the ebook version to be distributed through Kindle Select.

1806438-xlargeAustralian children's book marketing success story
In 2018 Amanda Greenslade's book The Anger Volcano started to become successful. It is one of the first books for children that is based on cognitive behaviour therapy in psychology that teaches them how to get the brain back into thinking mode. She first wrote the poems in the book with her own children in mind.

This book is for all the caregivers of children with anger management needs, emotional regulation challenges, learning disabilities, speech impediments, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, sensory processing disorder and other extra challenges in their lives. It is also a book for those who have been through childhood trauma or have troubled backgrounds.

Parents, counsellors, youth workers, psychologists, OTs and teachers need The Anger Volcano as it puts into simple rhymes and black and white pictures, some concepts that are new to a lot of people. It's one thing to teach anger management, relaxation, mental distraction techniques to adults and something else entirely to train children.

Amanda recommends getting professional help, and cannot sing the praises of psychologists and other specialists highly enough, but she also sees a need for some to-the-point tools that adults can use with children on anger, self-esteem and big emotions.

Making a children's book financially viable with print-on-demand is challenging, and Amanda wanted to get this book into the hands of those who need it, without crippling up-front or ongoing costs. To this end, Amanda first published The Anger Volcano in a small paperback format  (165 x 165 mm or 6.5 x 6.5in) with a black and white interior. It is priced at just AUD$7.99 (USD$6.99), which makes it very affordable.

Getting the content, production and price aspects right is the first step in successful book marketing. Meta-data is also crucial. In this case, you can see that the book says what it is in the title 'A Book About Anger for Kids'. This not only makes it clear what the book is, but contains the keyword 'anger' and the keyword phrase 'anger for kids'.

Next Amanda sent free copies to reviewers and Australian professionals and specialists. She used her companies Advanced Book Review Management package 1 to reach book reviewers and an office junior to send free copies around.

She used social media, boosted posts on Facebook and ran adds in the ADDitude email newsletter.

As the book has started to sell, Amanda produced a larger, hard cover edition for those who can afford it and want the better durability of a hard cover book and larger size.

These strategies, based on her Book Marketing Action Plan, can be used by other authors too. Amanda will gladly teach you the strategies and analyse all your book's set-up as part of this service. You can find out more through either the AEP or PMBO websites.

To buy the book please request it at your favourite bookstore or The Anger Volcano website.

About the project
We started this project with a quick proofread of Tim's manuscript before we created the print layout and cover design. Tim had some specific ideas in his mind for the cover, and we were able to portray these ideas in a design clearly. We used a consistent colour scheme and icon throughout to make the cover and interior of the book match. The print edition was then made available through print-on-demand.

We also created an ebook edition of Tim's book. Some tweaks were required to make sure the design looked good in the ebook as well as print. Once the ebook was completed, we distributed it on our usual vendors. ...continue reading "100 Tips to Be a Great Leader: Volume I"

About the book
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks inside, awakens.”—Carl Jung

Every soul seeking enlightenment who is touched or embraced by Spirit is given a gift to develop and grow. Soul Pathways shares the inspired words of nine new age practitioners and encourages every reader to seek their own words from within.

There is potential in all people to receive the flow of magic from the spirit world, guides, teachers, healers, mentors and masters. It’s the responsibility of all who are touched to use these words to benefit not only themselves but others as well.

This book is also for those of you who are inspired by spirits or channel. If you, too, are given words of longing from Spirit to pass on to others, let Soul Pathways lead the way. It is our deepest wish to open a door for others who will then be touched by the magic of love and healing.

To the uninitiated, our words may seem simple, but the words and messages of Spirit are of love, a language all living beings understand.
