About the project:
We first designed this book for print (see excerpts from the book below), including the front and back cover design. We liaised with the client and then later the printer to get the book looking exactly right and then provided print-ready pdfs to the printer when the job was all ready to go. We then began the conversion process. We were really happy with the easy transition from print layout to ebook. The design transferred very nicely, with the final result being an attractively designed print book and ebook in both epub and mobi formats. ...continue reading "The Bracelet"

This book was converted to epub and mobi from a client-supplied Word document and we also designed the front cover for this one. It was a fairly straightforward job as there were no images, other than what was on the front cover. We embedded the font for the headings within the content of the ebook in order to keep it consistent with the front cover and it turned out to be a nicely laid-out book. Ben was great to work with and we wish him all the best with this ebook endeavour.

Everything you’ve been told about nutrition is a lie.

Eat less and move more. That is the message constantly being thrown at us each and every day. From nutritionists, to governments, to the media, we are told the only way we can lose weight is if we eat less calories than we burn.

The biggest myth of modern nutrition is that it all comes down to calories. Calories in and calories out.

There is only one problem with the whole calorie theory. It is just plain wrong!

In this book you find out the truth on how your body really stores fat and what is the best way to lose it.

You will finally discover what foods you should be eating to give you the lean and toned body you have always been after and how you can actually eat more food to weigh less.

These universal principles of nutrition will outline how you can go about getting the body you have always wanted while at the same time giving you the healthiest, most nutritionally optimised diet possible.

Above all else, you will find out why the experts have been wrong this whole time about nutrition and why simply, when it comes to losing weight, calories don’t count!

We converted this book from the client-supplied Indesign documents. There were approximately 50 images in this book, all of which had to be optimised and sized so that they were all proportionate to the text. There were quite a few differing fonts in this ebook also, so they were embedded to ensure consistency throughout. It was great to work with Sarah and the book has a very clean, neat looking layout to it which translated well across to the ebook stage.

Book Information

A NSW country town is the perfect place for fourteen-year-old Peter Woziak to grow up in, thrashing old cars around paddocks, parties on the river, playing football and meeting girls. But things can change very quickly. The town plunges into a brutal dispute over football codes and Woziak wants to be loyal to his best mate without making a commitment himself. Then, when his girlfriend's little brother is killed, Peter waits too long before going to see her.

But the real challenge is lurking behind the walls of the town gaol. For almost his entire life, Peter has lived opposite the high walls of the gaol once used to hold prisoners of war. Sometime during the year Woziak becomes aware that the goal is used to hold 'bad' girls. When he tells his mates that he knows one of the girls in the gaol, they hatch a plan to rescue her. The wrong girl is rescued, but that turns out to be good. Peter learns that nothing is as it seems and people can surprise you. He even surprises himself.

This was a straight forward conversion from a word document to standard epub and mobi. This was a rush job and so we agreed with the customer at the beginning that we would get them distributed in time before his printed version release. This was achieved with plenty of time to spare. It was good working with Allan and hope to work with him again in the near future.

Book Information

The lifeblood of every developed nation is entrepreneurs, people who set out to build their own destiny and achieve fame and fortune. Yet 30% of all new businesses in Australia fail before their first year is finished; in the US 44% of enterprises have closed their doors by the 3rd year.

Why do some entrepreneurs succeed while others struggle to realise their dream?
Phillip Di Bella began Di Bella Coffee in 2002 with $5000 in his pocket. Within 4 years the company had made BRW’s Top 100 Fastest Growing list, with Phillip named among the top 100 young rich.
Phillip has turned his knowledge of coffee into a multi-million dollar business, yet his ambitions and dreams were no different than the thousands who dream of an empire and embark on their own journey every year to achieve success.

This book is about the formula that drove his success; the same formula which we believe drives the success of every great entrepreneur. That formula is simply called entrepreneurial intelligence. It is required reading for any entrepreneur who wants to survive the cut, and prosper.

This project included conversion of the original manuscript to standard .mobi and .epub. The client wanted a cover design that resembled the Peterloo Massacre in 1819, so we scoured the internet and sourced a painting of the Peterloo Massacre published by Richard Carlile which was the perfect intergration into the design. Additional to the inclusion of the painting, we added torn timeworn paper giving the cover an antique look to it. We then distributed the ebooks to Amazon, Apple, Google and Kobo. It was great working with Chris and hope to hear from him in the near future.

The Wakefields eventually become quite wealthy, but Henry holds the purse strings and this has a devastating effect on the family. Albert is caught stealing and is transported to New South Wales. Her baby’s death, Albert’s unknown fate and society parties become too much for Sarah, who hears voices and is taken to the lunatic asylum. Son Benjamin falls in love with an orphan girl and they have a baby. Henry is furious.
